Each day, when students enter their classroom, they greet each other before having breakfast together! Sometimes old school music plays in the background to jumpstart and energize the day.
Our classroom offers a wide open floor space for our SEL (Social Emotional Learning) Peace Circle. Students look forward to this time as a way to learn how to strengthen relationships with others in their school community, and at home. Having 48 (two for each student)floor mats to sit on would make our Peace Circle a lot more comfortable.
Our YellowJackets Classroom Promise details how students want to feel each day upon stepping into room C-22. Daily, a student is chosen to read this promise that is typed with illustrations of YellowJackets on a huge poster to an audience of his or her peers. Many of my students are soft-spoken, and therefore, the use of a microphone will make it easier to hear the speaker.
Thanks so much!
