I am a grateful Certified Teacher of the Blind & Visually Impaired and Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist (COMS) for MSD Warren Township! I have the BEST job ever!!! It is all because I work with the BEST students, families, and colleagues! My students range in age from 3-22 and are blind or have low vision. The majority of my students have other impairments as well. This diverse population gives me the opportunity to collaborate with many knowledgeable and passionate peers. My days are never the same as I can begin my day teaching a totally blind high school student how to cross the street. My next student can be a blind pre-schooler who is learning how to use their vision. The next student can be a 3rd grader who needs help using their technology to access the general education curriculum. And I can end my day with a middle school student who is losing vision and beginning to learn Braille.
