My students are 1st graders who attend a public school in Illinois. The district that we are in is high poverty, 70% at the elementary school, and high mobility. I have 23 students in my class and this year our school serves completely free breakfast and lunch. My students are just like 6 year old students in 1st grade classrooms everywhere. I want the classroom environment and experiences to inspire my students to be the best they can be. My students need to have control of their learning by choosing where they sit. With alternative seating options, students will be able to choose daily how they can best succeed!
