My Navajo language class comprises enthusiastic students deeply committed to reconnecting with their ancestral language and cultural heritage. Despite being one of the largest tribes in the United States, many families within our community unfortunately lack fluency in the language and familiarity with traditional customs. My students demonstrate a strong dedication to bridging the gap between the younger generation and our elders, fostering a renewed sense of cultural continuity. I strive to cultivate a supportive and respectful classroom environment where students feel safe to engage in practicing both the language and cultural traditions, with the overarching objective of revitalizing and preserving our linguistic and cultural legacy.
