Three weeks ago, Hurricane Irma wreaked havoc on Florida and caused lots of damage state-wide, and my classroom was not spared. My entire building was flooded with backed-up sewage water when the drainage system was overwhelmed with the amount of water coming through the system. Our classroom lost 15 pieces of sturdy, wooden furniture that was contaminated and had to be thrown out.
In order to keep my classroom organized and functional for my students, I am looking to replace some of these basic pieces of furniture that were damaged due to flooding. These include a cubby where my students store their backpacks and personal belongings and a storage cubby for my class manipulatives.
