In a simple word, my students can be described as "inspiring." last year I was convinced and ready to quit teaching and go back to working a minimum wage job at a fast food chicken chain because I was so over how the students at my last school, my administration and others had made me feel. I felt like I was a car, stuck in the mud and burning rubber at every turn. I couldn't find a way to get myself back to where I needed to be mentally to teach. I was then interviewed and offered a position here at Basic. I came in with hope for the admin, but the students were what changed me. The drive, passion, thirst and hunger for education that these students possess. The overall feeling that I know I'm reaching these students in a way that only a teacher can, is inspiring to me. I am now hoping to pursue a masters degree and have taken on a full load of classes and a speech and debate team because of these students I have.
