We are a public high school special education classroom for students with emotional disabilities grades 9-12. Our theme this year is Try Something New & Get Out Of Your Comfort Zone and we are focusing on overcoming our anxiety and fears while learning to use strategies that we can use outside of our classroom. We have anywhere from 3-10 students at a time that need a 10 minute break before we encourage them to return to class armed with confidence after using fidgets or a check in with us. The students that are in here for class love fidgets and the one sensory blanket that we have as it is a distraction for them while they work to regulate their emotions and practice various strategies. It is an absolute blessing to be a part of this classroom every single day!
