Hello, and Welcome to Ms. Walters' 8th grade CLUE class. CLUE stands for Creative Learning in a Unique Environment and it is a class for gifted students in the Shelby County Schools. We attend Snowden School, an historical school in the heart of midtown Memphis, TN. In this course, we explore literature spanning Classical "canon" fodder through to modern novels and films, emphasizing the various genres, authors, cultures, and historical contexts. We interpret, analyze, evaluate, and critique literature, demonstrating our understanding through discussions, presentations, projects, and essays. We write much and read more. In order to keep pace with and to access the muchness enjoyed by our peers in wealthier neighborhoods and districts, we could sometimes use a little help procuring much needed resources. Help us reach our goal, to begin to see the world as a readable text, a place in which Everything means Something!
