My classroom consists of 24 5 and 6 year old students. Many of them do not live in print-filled or literature-filled home environments. Because of this, I want to provide a classroom library where they can seek out adventures in the books on my shelves. The school has a high number of ELL students. English is a secondary language for many of them. It would be great if they could bring a book home every night to in order to improve their phonics and literacy level.
