The materials being requested will make a dramatic difference in my student's learning by engaging boys in reading. Reading effects every aspect of education, therefor it is important to get boys reading early and often.
To get male students excited about reading, I need to be able to put books in their hands that interest them. For example, sports related books, graphic novels, and nonfiction text, are books that my boys love to read. Having these types of books within my classroom library will help me encourage my boys to read more! Reading more will improve all other academic areas.
