Our school is an alternative school; students are academically behind for reasons such as being kicked out from regular schools, received jail sentences for a while, under probation or parole, over age, and other cases. These kids experienced different types of hardships and poverty, but they still want to finish high school, obtain marketable skills, and make a better life.
