My 8th grade students vary greatly in their reading ability and interests. All books that they read for my class are self-selected. Some will read ten books a marking period, and others will struggle to read one. I love to match kids with that one book that will spark their interest in reading. My goal for them is to see the value in reading - any reading - as they prepare for high school and beyond.
