My students are elementary students who face the same challenges as other kids their age, coupled with the distractions and dangers that are encountered in a high poverty area. Despite these challenges, they come to school with positive energy that can be infectious. They are at a very impressionable age. An age where we can instill the type of habits that can help them be lifelong readers and learners.
