We have an inclusion classroom in an urban setting. Most of our students are living in poverty, but they are typical kindergartners as far as their eagerness to learn and grow in the classroom. Listening to and exploring books is always an important and exciting part of our daily learning, whether it be peer reading, whole group reading or individualized reading, and the rug provides a comfortable and clean space for this to occur.
