I teach first grade students that come from a high poverty rate. I have never seen my kids so excited about reading before. These kids get so excited to have the opportunity to read from our class library. Whenever I read a book to them, they are gobbling it up to read right away. It usually ends up with me asking, "OK, who has the book...? They get so excited to find just the right fit book for them, but they get discouraged when they put the book back and then can't find it again because we have so many books, but they are not organized in a kid-friendly manner.
