The students in my 4th grade classroom are comprised of a mix of African-American, Hispanic and Caucasian races. They are primarily from underprivileged and poor backgrounds. We have some students that live in true poverty and are very reliant on the school for basic necessities. Due to the mixed backgrounds, we have a mixture of needs in the classroom from reading materials to snacks to first aid.
