My two classes have students who are struggling because of the Covid-19 pandemic. Many of my students have been out of school for a year and a half. The students missed out on the opportunity to have a library of books to choose from that are on their own level. Each book I have requested matches up with our Accelerated Reading program. After reading, the students can take quizzes to check for understanding.
The phonics games and decodable books are essential for the students because most of the students have deficits in many areas of the 2nd-grade phonics curriculum. I believe the games and readers will help the students catch up in an engaging way. The color printer will enhance many of our games and writing because it will be in vivid color.
