The school I work at is in a growing suburb of Wisconsin. It is the smallest elementary school in the district and the one with the most diversity, truancy, free and reduced lunch, and transient families. We have a thirty percent truancy rate, sixty-two percent free and reduced population, and sixty-four percent of our students are our transient population. While the predominant ethnicity is Caucasian, diversity is on the rise with many new families enrolling from Somalia, Ukraine, Russia, and Laos within the past 3 years. Currently, twenty-five percent of our students are English Language Learners and that number is steadily rising. Our students enjoy coming to school and thrive on using technology to stay focused and engaged in their learning.
