Reading books aloud to students is at the heart of what we do in our classroom. Providing students with at least one quality book read aloud to them each day can be a challenge. It is crucial that the texts read across several days are connected to deepen the students' comprehension and way that they view books.
The books that we are asking for are connected by genre, theme, and author. These books will provide students with rich opportunities to engage in a literature-rich environment that will foster their thinking about new topics and ideas. This collection includes forty books that will be read aloud to students throughout the school year. Our students will learn how to critically understand, evaluate, and critique books in a manner that will support them as they become effective and efficient readers, writers, and thinkers.
