Four year old kindergartners spend lots of time engaging in creative play that allows them the opportunity to actively experiment with the social and emotional roles of life. Through dramatic play, my students will learn how to take turns, share responsibility, and creatively problem solve. By pretending to be different people, the kiddos can experience walking in someones else's shoes. This experience strengthens their moral development skill of empathy. Currently, our dramatic play area is very old and lacks the capability to transform into different places. For example, we could use the furniture to take the "house" area and turn it into a veterinary clinic, auto shop, or bakery. By donating to our project, you will be able to create the stage for the imagination, learning, and fun to start!
