I have the privilege of teaching over 700 students in a Title I school. Our classroom is a place where students can come and be themselves and express themselves through song, dance, rap, technology, and musical instruments. We learn, through music, to work together, to appreciate things not always seen, and to respect ourselves and those around us.
My students are very eager to learn new instruments and would love to be able to not have to share with four or five other students on the same instrument.
Projects funded will provide my students an opportunity to experience things that they never thought possible and, perhaps, never thought they would have enough funds to experience.
