Books take kids on wonderful, unforgettable adventures. I would love to add chapter books to our classroom library and help my students expand their love of reading. I would love to see them go exploring with the kids in The Magic Treehouse series, learn facts about important people and events in our history from Who Was?, and go adventures with Junie B. Jones.
Books teach students about the value or friendship, teamwork, kindness, love, or loss. When children are able to get lost in a book, they begin to connect to a fictional or nonfictional character and learn from them. They are able to travel with the characters to new and exciting places. My goal is to get students excited about reading, and hopefully develop this excitement into love!
