Flexible seating allows students to take charge of their learning and make the choices that work best for them. During independent work times, they could choose a location in the classroom that works for them.
Currently, my 1st grade students have no other option than sitting at a traditional table with a chair. I believe that the ability to have flexible seating options, especially options that support they natural need for movements like wobble stool and bouncy chair bands, will be extremely beneficial to students that just need to get the wiggles out. They can also be used as an alternative chair if needed!
I will provide other flexible seating options along these stools and chairs with bands to create a welcoming classroom environment that adapts to meet the students needs by allowing them to be more engaged and more focused.
I have seen how even small choices can positively affect my students work and demeanor and hope that the additional options will help us grow even more!
