I teach 40 energetic Pre-Kindergarten friends daily. Manipulative tools invite both open-ended and structured play. These manipulative tools will be a positive addition to our classroom that will not only impact the 40 children I teach this year, but they will remain as a long term part of the classroom and continue to help children in future classes as well, extending its impact.
We spend the majority of our day in centers learning. Our year begins by establishing our classroom expectations. Each year brings new challenges. One of the expectations we struggle with is using our hands for helping. Providing my students with manipulative tools would encourage them to play together collaboratively. New manipulative tools also provide my students with learning to enhance their creativity, imaginations and problem solving they need for successful learning.
