When I work, I want to be comfortable. Most of the time, that means I'm not at a desk. This year, I have given my students the opportunity to choose their own seats in the classroom based on where and how they learn best. The new seating options will provide my students with more options for seating beyond the ones I've already provided. Many students also have attention problems, and being able to move and change seats helps eliminate the behavior issues that can arise.
Again, many students don't learn best at a hard chair and desk, and need alternate options to keep them engaged and learning to their fullest potential.
That may mean having a chair that allows them to move, a place to collaborate with classmates, or a spot where they can work in peace. My students are learning that a classroom can be a place where they can do their best learning in their own way. Please help my students get more options for choice seating!
