I teach Career and Technical Education (CTE) at our school from 6th to 8th grade. I have around 195 students each semester and our students come from 4 feeder elementary schools in the area. I am in a small suburban area 20 miles west of a major city in our state. We have 945 students with an average class size of 30-32. Socioeconomically, groups range from the upper end of the spectrum to the lower end of the spectrum, and we have a 13% unemployment rate in our county. Our biggest challenge is fundraising for extra supplies in our large school that aren't deemed necessary but will help build future technology leaders and engineers.
