My classroom is a home away from home for my students. They spend six and a half hours of their day in the school building. They spend their time researching, working and creating as they learn. With the new regulations due to the Covid-19 virus, students will be spending their entire day in one classroom. I want to provide them with as much flexibility as I can. Many of my students have trouble sitting still in their seats. Providing these students with various seating options not only would improve their focus while completing their tasks, but it would also improve their overall comfort. The wobble chairs and wobble cushions would be a wonderful and necessary addition to my classroom as they would be an alternative seating options used by the students daily.
Another impact of Cvoid-19 were budget cuts. Every year teachers were provided with $250 dollars for supplies and necessities for their classroom. However, due to the major budget cuts this money will no longer be provided. Throughout the years I have noticed students have shown great interest in graphic novels. They run to our classroom library to grab the newest books added. They also always tend to gravitate to those books during our yearly book fairs.
If we get these books added to our library, I can only imagine the joy on their faces. They will be engaged and eager to read everyday. Supporting this project will have an everlasting impact on my students and their teacher.
