I have a class of 25 vibrant second graders that are so eager to learn. It is a public school in a high poverty area. Many students are "latch-key kids" or go home to caregivers that can not often read with them or offer them something appropriate to read by themselves. In school, we try to provide these opportunities. Sometimes, we don't seem to have enough books at the student's specific reading levels. I know this would make a tremendous difference for each child.
