My students are a mixture of 5 and 6 year olds. You guessed it - they’re in Kindergarten! About a third of their lives have been impacted by COVID (and by the looks of it, will continue to be impacted in the foreseeable future). The impact COVID has had on their lives is wide and vast - influencing some of the most important aspects of a 5 year-old’s social, emotional, and academic development. To help my students develop the skills they need to be successful, I am seeking a variety of resources and materials via this project. These resources will allow me to foster a positive classroom environment where students will be allowed to explore, discover, and flourish in their learning. The resources I am asking for include classroom read-alouds, literacy center supplies, math manipulatives, and sensory fidget toys. In tandem, these resources will support student learning in a variety of ways throughout the entire day. Students will be able to learn and grow as a community as they practice their listening and comprehension skills, teamwork skills, and social-emotional skills, as well as put academic concepts into practice. I am very grateful for this opportunity as I know that these resources will help my students be successful today and in the future!
