The real world is full of choices. As adults, we have the privilege of being responsible for how and where we learn. I want my students to learn to take that responsibility within the classroom and be granted the choice of learning in the work space that is best for each individual student. Having flexible seating options in which students can choose where and how they sit, stand, or wobble while they work will help them to take responsibility for their own educational needs in the classroom. These flexible seating options will allow and encourage students to use their bodies while they use their brains! Sitting in a chair all day long isn't fun for anyone, especially a growing body. My kiddos will love to get to move around and get their blood flowing while their minds are hard at work with the choice to work on wobble cushions, on wobble stools, stretched out on the floor working on a low tables, in a bungee chairs, or with a clipboard on a cozy rug!
