The students in my classroom come to me from diverse backgrounds with differentiating needs. With teaching in an urban district, the challenges my students face inside and outside the classroom are in many cases, distressing and oftentimes heartbreaking. Despite the obstacles they face, their determination, persistence, and attitude not only motivate me to be a better teacher everyday, but they also inspire me. Additionally, many of the students come from low-income households and therefore don't always have the means for basic necessities needed to succeed in school; yet they still come to school each day with a positive attitude and are eager to learn. It is my goal as their classroom teacher to not only motivate and inspire them, as they both motivate and inspire me, but I'd also like to provide the growth and means for them to believe, dream, achieve, and succeed!

About my class
