My school serves some of the district's neediest students. Over 76% of the school's population live with families that income level meet or exceed the nation's poverty. The students in my class are economically disadvantaged with 100% qualified to receive free lunch.
As an educator, it is my responsibility to help close the achievement gap ensuring that regardless of race, social-economic condition or neighborhood, each child receives a head start through exposure, language enrichment, and an environment that allows for outside-the-box thinking.
This is why I would love to provide my students with hands-on opportunities to encourage their creativity and exploration.
