Do you remember how boring math can be when all you have is a worksheet and a pencil? As a math interventionist, my job is to make math fun and exciting for my students. I work with groups of students from K-5th grade who struggle with math concepts. My students are willing and eager to learn, but need a lot of support. They attend a low-income school in Illinois and many of them come from homes where English is their second language. During math groups, we spend a lot of time working with manipulatives to math make exciting and accessible.
