My 1st grade classroom is made up of students from several local communities in Northern Minnesota. We love the outdoors! My students thrive on hands on learning. In addition to our core instruction, we utilize games and real life experiences to encourage learning.
Throughout the year we have several community and family events where our families are invited into our classroom to be part of the learning experience.
My goal as a teacher is for each of my students to feel loved, respected, and to leave my classroom with a love of learning and reading.
A few of my favorite activities with my students during the year are: Reading Geronimo Stilton books,
making applesauce & apple volcanoes, learning about bats, Veteran's Day projects, learning about polar animals, Books & Bagels family event, mystery readers, student plays, planting flowers, the 7 Mindsets, and using games and centers to encourage learning.
