The games that I am requesting for our classroom can be used for indoor recess and for students to enjoy during their free time. Although games scream "fun," they have a much bigger purpose–to stimulate the brain and encourage team building. Our school is located on a higher elevation, therefore rainy days are the norm. For such days, I want to give my students the opportunity to practice team-building skills, foster critical thinking skills, and most importantly, free the brain from stress! Due to the pandemic, my classroom currently does not have any games for students to play indoors. A variety of card games and board games will encourage my students to demonstrate the General Learner Outcomes, feel comfortable in our classroom environment, and build meaningful relationships. Games will also cater to my special needs students–as a coping mechanism and a way to take breaks.
