I am currently the technology resource teacher and the academic team coach at my school. I work with students from K-7th grade. However, I work closely with a small group of 5th - 6th grade students who are academically gifted. These students will be participating in various academic competitions this year and in coming years.
Unfortunately, we are in a high-poverty area of Kentucky. There isn't any extra money available for needed resources. We have been using a broken buzzer system for the past two years. This is really frustrating for the students because the system doesn't work right. I want to motivate these students because they will be the leaders in our community someday.
