A new carpet could benefit our classroom for many reasons. Our old rug rolls and folds no matter how much we try to fix it and creates tripping hazards for the students.
It would also be helpful in creating a calmer atmosphere for my students to learn in. Our old carpet is very bright and busy and I have some students with ADHD who are effected by these things.
And last, it would provide a designated spot for students to sit on when doing calendar or reading times. This way they can have a small area of the carpet to call their own.
