I built tall tables for my classroom after realizing many of my high school students deal with ADHD and have trouble focusing for an extended amount of time. These tall tables allow my kids to stand up and shift their weight, which many of them prefer to sitting still in a desk for a 50-minute class period.
After two years of begging, borrowing, and stealing different tall seating options from the school's furniture graveyard, I decided to look into getting tall stools so that the students can transition from sitting to standing without being disruptive. In our English and Journalism classes, many students rush to my room since the flexible space is limited and it's first come, first serve.
Also, I've had the same decorations in my room for 6 years now, and it's time for an update! The new wall décor will match the tables and seating and create a softer, more calming environment than the past theme! With the current situations our students will face when they start the year, it will be more appropriate and inviting.
