Having the iPads will help transform my middle school math classroom into a relevant, engaging environment. The students will be able to apply math to the real word. Instead of just hearing about math topics (discounts, simple interest, unit rate, and so many more) my students will go on-line and apply these topics. For example, while learning about unit rate, the students pick their favorite junk food, comparison shop unit rates, and then write a letter to their parents trying to convince them to buy that junk food (come on Mom and Dad, its such a great deal!). The iPAds will also enable me to make classwork with QR Codes attached. This allows the students to have instant feedback after each math problem. Many kids are too shy to ask for help as to why they missed a problem. When using the QR Codes, the students can scan the code and see step by step how the problem should have been solved. IPads will revolutionize my classroom into an environment that makes math real, fun, and successful for all!
