I am the librarian at a suburban public elementary school in Oklahoma with approximately 583 students. I serve children in grades K-6. We have a wonderful library that is in a building all by itself at the back of the campus. Unfortunately, we do not have enough shelf space to accommodate the hundreds of free books that we acquired this summer at area book distributions. My assistant and I have removed all paperback everybody books already in our collection in order to clear shelf space for more hardcover books that will soon be placed on the shelves. We have decided that we would love to have a separate spot for these paperbacks and create an area designated mostly for kindergarten use but which would also be made available to other members of the student body. It would be wonderful to have a nice display space for these books that we are so blessed to have.
