My name is Amy Hirsbrunner, and I have been a teacher for 17 years. For all but two of those years, I have taught in and around Las Vegas, Nevada. I have a masters degree in Educational Leadership and am a National Board Certified Teacher in Reading and Language Arts. In my 17 years of teaching, I have taught every grade in elementary school but third grade. I am currently a kindergarten teacher- something I NEVER thought I would do, and I LOVE IT!! My current school is highly impoverished. I followed my principal, whom I greatly admire, to this school to help change the climate and success of the school. We are trying to teach our students that they can change their circumstances and be anything they want in life. This is the greatest and hardest work of my career. Besides being a teacher, I am a wife, mother of 3, an avid reader, a lover of baseball, and a dreamer. I am also a breast cancer survivor!
