When classrooms have tile floors, young students need areas that are soft for their whole group activities as well as individual reading time. Our classroom floor can be cold and uncomfortable to sit on, especially in the colder months.
My students will use this rug for whole group lessons in reading, math, science and social studies. Many of my students have come to us with no other experience in formal schooling, and they do not understand how to keep their own body to themselves. The individual spots on this rug will provide a visual to help my students stay in their own place during group time. The rug is designed with boxes to show them where to sit. Each row is a different color which will make the rug also ideal for use in graphing activities.
