I have 19 students in my transitional Kindergarten/first grade classroom. Eight of my students are in the Early Intervention Program (EIP) and I have 11 kindergarten students. They are full of energy and on all different levels, academically and behaviorally. With this being said, our classroom is like a family. We accept everyone for who they are. We help each other and support each other to meet the standards that are set for us.
Our school is a Title I school. We have a high number of economically disadvantaged students who get very little help at home. I want my students to have the absolute best opportunities in life so I set high standards for them and do everything I can to help them reach their goals. Everyone gets what they need, and that may look different for every student.
