Our students are at a public school that houses twenty-four classes K-4. We are in a rural town in Oklahoma with a majority of minority students. We have a high rate of poverty in our city, and this school site is no exception. At last count, over 90% of the students at our school qualified for free or reduced meals. The students are eager to begin this new school year with a clean slate. Those who met their reading goals last year are ready to do that again. Those who did not reach their goals are willing to work harder this year.
