I believe that now is the time to develop in my students the skills they will need for the jobs of the future. I love that my curriculum allows students this opportunity daily. My STEM classroom is fostering growth mindsets by providing the environment for learners to solve real-world problems with an understanding of the following: "Failure is NOT the opposite of success. It is PART of success" and "Success is a pile of failure. You are just standing on top of it."
The reality is that most of the jobs my students will have are not even a part of our current workforce so they must be adaptive, interactive, and responsive to others and the problems and opportunities that they see in the world around them. Since exploration is the key to solving problems, it is necessary to incorporate lots of hands-on, technology-driven materials into our classroom in order to provide learners with an inspiring learning environment.
