Alternative seating is going to hugely benefit the students in my resource room. It allows the students to choose where and how they'd like to do their work. Giving them choices such as bean bag chairs, seat cushions, laying on a rug with pillows or balance balls will allow them to be in control of their environment and allows them to succeed at their academics. Having the different textures and seating positions gets their bodies ready to activate their brains. Having flexible seating options is also important so the students can meet their sensory needs.
