Our kindergartners have been stuck at home for most of their young lives; they have not experienced preschool or library storytimes. Their playgrounds have been closed and playdates canceled. As they enter the classroom for the first time, they come with a little apprehension but big, open hearts ready to learn. This project is to create individualized and hands-on art, science, math, music, literacy, and dramatic play centers using engaging manipulatives, art supplies, and new instruments. This project includes xylophones for weekly music instruction. Last year we learned the scale on Zoom, my students can’t wait to get their hands on an instrument this year to continue learning to read music. It also includes art supplies for a new art center and manipulatives for math, science and literacy centers. Using these supplies, sudents will work through academic standards at their own pace following their individual interests. They will build social skills as they work together, learning through play. My first year as a teacher was entirely on Zoom. This will be my first year in a *real* classroom, so I am building our classroom from scratch. Thank you for joining our loving community!
