These books I have chosen for my classroom will be used for independent reading time when students are encouraged to get lost in their books. My students seek out everything from fiction and fantasy to biographies and books about science. These collections of books will give students more choices and provide a variety of texts for students to choose from.
These new titles will hopefully inspire students to read independently, and more importantly-to love reading! The titles on this list support our units for reading, social studies and science which we try to embed within our everyday curriculum. This will be another way for students to broaden their knowledge and inspire their imaginations.
