Social/emotional learning is necessary for children to succeed academically. These skills are used every day, in almost every aspect of life! When children are self-aware and obtain self-management skills, they are able to focus in school, express their needs effectively, solve problems independently, maintain healthy friendships, and more! Books, Legos, and games serve as tools for children to express themselves and learn to apply these necessary life skills. My students will benefit from these tools, as they will learn the vocabulary needed to communicate their emotions; they will learn valuable character traits including, responsibility, respect, honesty, and kindness; and they will learn life skills such as, perseverance, teamwork, and optimism. Not only will they learn these social/emotional skills, but they will also have tools, such as Legos and games to apply what they learn in creative and fun ways!
