In 2023, I took a leap of faith and became certified to teach special education. What I rediscovered was my passion for teaching struggling students. Everyday I work with amazing children who want to learn but need individual instructional support. Part of my day, I go into general education classes. This provides two teachers for one class. This model of teaching allows my students to stay in class with typical peers and learn grade level standards so they don’t fall behind. The rest of my schedule includes small group instruction in my classroom. This is where I can help students who are multiple levels behind practice strategies to close learning gaps. I am so thankful to be able to do what I love!
